20 SL Personal Questions Meme (Strawberry Singh)

When and how did you discover Second Life? I was watching CSI New York and they were investigating a woman who was killed for her avatar in Secondlife. I was intrigued so I went and thought lets see if this is real or just a gag (usually they aren't real) and I was shocked to see it was real so I thought make up a name and join check it out and let it go. I found almost all points shown in the episode except for a few. After I logged out and went back to playing POTC (Pirates Of The Caribbean) the next day I actually logged back into SL and well 5.5 years later I'm still here lol.

Did you know about virtual worlds before or was this your first experience with them?No I didn't SL was my first experience of a virtual world.

Has Second Life met your expectations? To a degree yes and no

If you could teleport back to the first ten minutes of your avatar’s slife, what would you tell yourself? One would be some of the former friends I have had in the passed, emotional vampires. I would have also told myself to curve the RL cash spending in this damn game, it's a sink hole for spending money frivolously and having nothing but pixel things to show for it that don't do you a lick of good in the real world.

How long did it take you to master avatar flying and driving vehicles inworld? Flying was a cinch, driving cars is still a bit wonky but I don't do it often so I'm not gonna be the next Dale Earhheard JR.

Do you have a mystery alt? I have several. My partner knows ALL of my alts, my friends know most if not all of them and I do have a few that are sneaky for purposes that watch my back, my partners back as well as my friends. I'm not afraid to take on a mission for watching their partners if they have distrust in them. Hell, back in 2008 me and a former nutwack friend of mine had a Private Detective Agency in SL so we use to get paid to do this sort of thing haha. I don't do it for hire these days, I will for special people that's where I draw the line.

Is your SL avatar a reflection of you, or someone you wished you could be? My avatar has my personality and in some cases some people get to know the real me but my avatar is in fact just a made up person. As SL is an escape from the real world  for me so I created her in likeness for whatever happens, happens sort of deal because it isn't a real world to me, granted the people you meet and form relationships with are real and I do connect some of them with my real life.

Is there an individual you met in SL that inspired you in your RL? Yes, I have a few that in spire me and my real life. It's hard to do this but in my 5.5 years only two people have made that sort if impact on me and my real life. Of course your friends obviously leave a mark on your real life and you may include some of them in your real life as I do a few but only 2 have ever gotten inside of me deep down and have become a solid part of me.

Do you feel it is easier to create stronger bonds/relationships with people you meet inworld as opposed to the real world? No, it is pretty much same principle...You will meet some amazing people and you will meet people you will regret meeting for the rest of your life lol that happens in SL and in RL but again I think that happens in any social media setting weather on a chat client, virtual world or real life.

Did you ever imagine or believe people could fall in love with someone they never met before Second Life? Honestly, no I didn't. I have been shown to have been dead wrong. One really has no idea of the possibilities until it actually happens to them and when it does it hits you like a brick head on.

How has your perspective of dating changed (or not) since you started playing second life? I am partnered to one of my best friends so I don't have a need to worry about that. I'm not into the pixel sex thing, sure it was fun when you first start SL your like "whaaaat I can have sex here???" but it gets old and it's like that's all people are looking for, it's OVERRATED. So I don't have to worry about all of that noise I'm good. As for RL perspective, I really can't answer this fully because my heart is already taken by someone in the real world and it doesn't matter if they have been met in the real world or the virtual world.

How has your perspective of employment changed (or not) since you started playing second life? Employment in SL has changed in my opinion since I started SL in 2008, in some ways worse than real life jobs, they place unrealistic demands on you for a virtual world. They expect you to be there ALL the time regardless of real life. I have chosen to work when I want to, I blog and sometimes that is even worse than a real life job with unreal expectations. In short it can be fun, rewarding and it can be a pain in the ass and pain staking.

Name three things in both your lives that overlap each other significantly. Friendships, business stuff and fun mainly its the friendships over all

If you could live your life more immersively in a virtual world, would you? NO, I like to play in the virtual world(s) but I prefer to live in the real world.

How do you think behavior changes for people if they’re inworld vs in real world? Why do you think that is? Some people get so attached to SL that they can't tell the difference between the real world and the virtual world. They get so involved. I like to play in SL there is no way I could ever make SL my RL. I can take people from SL and make them a part of my real life but it isn't real, everything in SL is created in my vision, my likeness and my way..It's user created so you can make your SL whatever you want it to be.

How has second life consumerism changed your perception of spending habits, the value of money, the need to be “bleeding edge” with fashion? I use to sell my soul to the devil for fashion, did so for 5 years, now I don't, I just do as I please...If you liek it you like it if you don't oh well tough it's my avi lol.

Do you think virtual worlds like SL drive and redefine human interaction or do they narrow and limit it? Human interaction is already narrowed and limited not to mention shallow but I think SL is also a contributor of it as its a social network and we all know all socialism is alike regardless of the form so with that being said it's just like real life only in pixels. Either world is based upon shallow people (modeling & movies) any industry where your too tall, too short, too skinny, too fat, too cute, not pretty enough and so on. With the ability to make your avatar in likeness to any form or person its pretty much the same manufactured world as it is in real life only in a virtual world with pixels. They fight call one another ugly, anorexic, too fat, too tall or too short, basically SL is an extension of real life....People still refuse to stop realize or think that the person behind the avatar also has feelings.

If technology progressed tomorrow to allow you to send emotions to people the way you’d send text or voice messages, would it enrich your SL experience or infringe on it? I don't know really because I just send the emotion written in am in or text or on voice to the person I'm needing to send an emotion too. Honestly I would think it would infringe because it would make it more gimmicky and it would be like Yahoo on acid.

Name three skills you attribute to having learned or honed in second life alone.
Certified Modeling, Former Modeling Agency Owner, and Blogging (my way of modeling my way without all the mundane criticism of the actual modeling world.

If your grand kids googled your Second Life Avatar’s name, would they be intrigued, disgusted, proud or something else? Well, lol if I had children I think my grand kids would be proud that their gramma was a gnarly bitch, I always stood up for myself and my own as well as people I love in either life so I think they'd be proud.
